PEABODY ESSEX MUSEUM
Every 7 Minutes
Linking the opium war, a museum's collection, and today's opioid crisis.

From the very beginning client's concept to the final delivery work

My team did a workshop walking through the client's storyboard to better understand the narrative and client expectations.
Alongside the storyboard workshop, we also did a styling exercise, looking at a range of references to get reactions on the tone and visual approach.

I created the stroyboard based on the workshop we had with the client, in addition to our team's vision.
The workshop gave me and my team a better understanding of where the visual style should go, using references to start building on the visual and motion styles. Our visual designer made beautiful style frames.

The motion team made several motion studies to test out the look and feel.

An animatic helped us to peace out the basic timing and movements, giving us a strong timing and layout guid to build upon.

Rough cut pins down content and design approach, while final cut adds deth and layers of effects to bring everything to life.

This includes a lof of editing works, and taught me that a good motion designer should not get happy too early, because the rendering problems just keep appearing :(

Here is the final rendering:
